NEW BOARD: The membership elected a new board of directors including a slate of new officers. Congratulations to RRPOA’s new Board President Brad Petersen! See who is on the board here. WATER DISTRICT & INTERIM ACTIONS: Mike Martini of Sonoma Alliance for Vineyards and Environment (SAVE) presented on the vision to create a water district in the Alexander Valley to ensure agriculture has a seat at the table in future water policy discussions. POTTER VALLEY: Additionally, we were joined by representatives of Sonoma Water and RRPOA associate member attorney Peter Kiel to give an overview on the current status of the Potter Valley Project and its impact to water rights. WATER SHARING PROGRAM: Adriane Garayalde and Dennis Murphy provided an overview of the Voluntary Water Sharing Program in the Upper Russian River Watershed. Participants in the program may be eligible for an exception to curtailments that would otherwise be applicable pursuant to an emergency regulation adopted by the State Water Board on May 10, 2022. Parties interested in participating in the water sharing agreement must submit an electronic enrollment form by June 20, 2022. ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN. To access the enrollment forms, log in using your Water Right ID as the Login ID and the RMS password used for your annual water use reporting associated with your water right. Once logged in, several forms should be visible. Select “Voluntary Water Sharing Agreement Form”. Select “Survey” to begin the enrollment process. More program info below.
